MAJOR GENERAL DONALD A. MCGREGOR

Major General Donald A. McGregor serves as Director, Strategy, Policy, Plans and International Affairs (J-5), National Guard Bureau, the Pentagon, Washington, District of Columbia. His responsibilities include development and implementation of National Guard Bureau strategy, policy, plans, initiatives and concepts related to war fighting; transformation; the State Partnership Program; theater security cooperation; federal and state homeland security; interagency, intergovernmental, and multinational coordination; and civil support missions.

General McGregor graduated from the University of Minnesota in Duluth in 1981 and was commissioned through the Reserve Officer Training Corps. He is a command pilot with more than 3,300 flight hours. General McGregor has held a number of flying and staff positions, and has commanded at the squadron level. He was Deputy Director, Operations, United States Northern Command and has served as Director of Air, Space and Cyberspace Operations for the Air National Guard. General McGregor has served on the staff at both the Air Force major command and combatant command levels. He has held a number of supervisory positions at the branch, division, and directorate level in operations, strategy, policy, and plans as well as leading combat support programs in Afghanistan.
