MAJOR GENERAL E. RANDOLPH JAYNE II

Major General E. Randolph Jayne II is the Air National Guard assistant to Air Force Space Command (AFSPC) headquartered at Peterson Air Force Base, Colo. He serves as the representative of the director of the Air National Guard to the commander, AFSPC for coordination of total force issues and mission accomplishment for space operations.

General Jayne entered the Air Force in 1966 as a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy. After completing a Ph.D. in defense policy from MIT, he served in a series of operational flying and Washington, D.C., special staff tours. After 11 years on active duty, he joined the Air National Guard, serving in a variety of command and staff positions. A command pilot with more than 3,000 flying hours, he flew Southeast Asia combat tours in the F-4 Phantom and as a Sandy pilot in the A-1 Skyraider.
