Brigadier General David B. Anderson assumed the duties of the Commander, Land Component Command, North Dakota National Guard on 3 November 2011. He was responsible to the Adjutant General to provide Army National Guard forces that are ready to deploy in support of national defense, homeland defense or military support to civil authority.

General Anderson received his commission as a Second Lieutenant in 1980 through the Reserve Officer Training Corps program at North Dakota State University.
