General Officer Biography

BRIGADIER GENERAL THOMAS N. EDMONDS

 

Brigadier General Thomas N. Edmonds served as the chief of staff with duties as the vice commander for Headquarters, Michigan Air National Guard from October 2000 to September 2004. As vice commander, General Edmonds directed the activities of the Headquarters, Michigan Air National Guard in support of the adjutant general of Michigan, the assistant adjutant general for air, and the Air National Guard units located at Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Battle Creek Air National Guard Base, and the Combat Readiness Training Center, Alpena, Mich.

General Edmonds received his commission as Second Lieutenant in June of 1969, as a Distinguished Military Graduate of Army Reserve Officers Training Corps, Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, Mich. He served on active and reserve duty with the Army until June of 1988, when he was appointed a Major in the Air National Guard. General Edmonds has served as a flight commander, group commander, and director of support.
