Deputy Director, J-3/7, National Guard Bureau
Brigadier General Robert M. Ginnetti is Deputy Director, Domestic Operations and Force Development (J3/7), National Guard Bureau, Arlington, Virginia. He is charged with assisting the Director, Domestic Operations and Force Development and the Chief, National Guard Bureau, in the direction and control of all National Guard Domestic Operations by planning, coordinating, information sharing and integrating all aspects of National Guard Domestic Operations. Additionally, he guides the development of training and exercise policies and programs to ensure joint units of the National Guard are ready to respond to their homeland defense and homeland security missions.
General Ginnetti was commissioned through the Reserve Officer Training Corps program at the University of Idaho in 1983 and holds Masters Degrees in National Security Strategy from the National War College and in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He has served as an F-15 pilot, OA-10 Forward Air Controller, Army Battalion Air Liaison Officer, A-10 Instructor Pilot and RC-26B Mission Commander. General Ginnetti joined the Maryland Air National Guard in 1992 where he has held a variety of command and leadership positions. He has served at Headquarters Air Force, United States Northern Command, the National Guard Bureau and as Chief of Combat Operations for Operation NOBLE EAGLE. General Ginnetti is a Command Pilot with over 3800 hours, including 520 combat hours in Operations DESERT STORM, DENY FLIGHT, DELIBERATE FORCE, SOUTHERN WATCH and IRAQI FREEDOM.
