BRIGADIER GENERAL STEVEN D. GREGG

 

Chief of Staff, Oregon Air National Guard

General Steven D. Gregg is Chief of Staff, Oregon Air National Guard, Salem, Oregon. He also serves as Commander, Oregon Air National Guard, Oregon Joint Force Headquarters, Salem, Oregon. General Gregg has the overall responsibility for the organization, training and equipping of seven units with more than 2,300 personnel within the state.

General Gregg joined the Oregon Air National Guard in 1984 and received his commission through the Air National Guard Academy of Military Science in 1985. Upon completion of Undergraduate Pilot Training in 1986, he completed F-4 upgrade training as a Distinguished Graduate and was assigned to the 123rd Fighter Interceptor Squadron, Portland Air National Guard Base, Portland, Oregon. In September 1989 he completed F-15 transition training during the 142d Fighter Wing's conversion to the F-15. His many assignments consist of Flight Instructor, Flight Examiner, Functional Check Pilot, Chief of Weapons and Tactics, Flight Commander, and Operations Officer. General Gregg has commanded the 123d Fighter Squadron, 142d Aircraft Generation Squadron, 142d Fighter Wing as Vice Commander, and as Vice Commander, 142d Fighter Wing. Prior to accepting his current assignment, he served as Assistant Adjutant General-Air, Oregon National Guard, Oregon Joint Force Headquarters.
