BRIGADIER GENERAL TIMOTHY B. BRITT

Director, Joint Staff, Georgia Joint Force Headquarters

Brigadier General Timothy B. Britt serves as Director, Joint Staff of the Georgia National Guard. He reports directly to the Adjutant General of Georgia with responsibility for directing the Joint Staff and acting as Joint Task Force Commander during mobilizations for Defense Support to Civil Authorities within the state. General Britt's military career began in May 1983 when he was commissioned Second Lieutenant, Military Police branch, through the Reserve Officer Training Corps program at North Georgia College. General Britt entered the Georgia Army National Guard in May, 1987. His latest assignment prior to his current position as the Director, Joint Staff was a deployment; September 2008 to July 2009, as the Deputy Commander, Combined Joint Task Force ' Phoenix VIII, with the 33rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Illinois Army National Guard, to Kabul, Afghanistan.
