BRIGADIER GENERAL ROGER B. BURROWS

Brigadier General Burrows assumed duties as 177^th Military Police Brigade Commander, Michigan Army National Guard in October 1998. He commands all assigned units and activities in the brigade; establishes objectives and policies to ensure effective and efficient accomplishment of command missions, and is responsible for developing the brigade into a cohesive, effective combat ready unit capable of being deployed on short notice. He is also responsible for training, administration, supply, maintenance, transportation and security of the brigade; and for maintaining brigade strength at a high level through recruiting and retention programs.

The General's military career began in 1970 when he enlisted in the Michigan Army National Guard. Upon graduation from the Michigan Military Academy, he accepted a commission in 1971 as a Second Lieutenant, Signal Corps. Prior to this assignment, General Burrows served as 156^th Signal Battalion Commander; Detachment 1, HQ STARC Brigade Commander; and Deputy Commander, 38^th Infantry Division.
