BRIGADIER GENERAL DANIEL L. PEABODY

 

Assistant Adjutant General, Connecticut Air National Guard

Brigadier General Daniel L. Peabody is the Assistant Adjutant General, Connecticut Air National Guard. He is responsible to the Adjutant General for providing operationally trained, equipped and mission ready forces in support of both federal mobilization requirements and state emergency operations. On behalf of the Adjutant General, he implements policies, programs, and plans and is the direct link to all state assigned Air National Guard resources providing information, evaluation, issue resolution and action recommendations.

General Peabody was commissioned in 1978 through the Air National Guard Academy of Military Science. He enlisted in the Connecticut Air National Guard in 1976 and served as an F-100D/F aircraft crew chief. He completed Undergraduate Pilot Training and the A-10A Operational Training Course. Besides serving as a combat-ready fighter pilot, he has served in various assignments in flying and operations, as well as command positions in the group and wing. General Peabody deployed for Operation IRAQI FREEDOM and commanded the 506th Aerospace Expeditionary Group, Kirkuk Air Base Iraq. He is a senior command pilot with more than 4200 hours primarily in the A-10 aircraft and has flown in numerous deployments worldwide to include combat missions over the former Republic of Yugoslavia and Iraq.
