MAJOR GENERAL RANDALL R. MARCHI

Major General Randall R. Marchi assumed duties as Assistant Adjutant General - Army, Pennsylvania National Guard, Joint Force Headquarters on 4 September 2012. He served as the primary advisor to The Adjutant General for manning, equipping and training the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. General Marchi also served as the Deputy Adjutant General of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Veteran Affairs.

General Marchi was commissioned in 1980 through the Officer Candidate School program at the Pennsylvania National Guard Military Academy, and was assigned to Headquarters, 28th Infantry Division Artillery. His career began in 1973 when he enlisted in the Army National Guard. General Marchi held numerous command positions including commander of 28th Infantry Division Artillery, 1st Battalion 108th Field Artillery, and Battery F 109th Field Artillery. Prior to his present assignment, General Marchi served as the Division Commander of the 28th Infantry Division, commanding more than 15,000 soldiers. During his time as commander, the 28th Division mobilized and deployed more than 5,000 soldiers to peacekeeping missions in Kosovo and the Sinai and to combat in Iraq and Afghanistan. He also conducted command visitations to forces forward deployed in Kosovo and Iraq.
