BRIGADIER GENERAL LEODIS T. JENNINGS

 

Special Assistant to the Deputy Chief of Staff G-8, Headquarters Department of the Army

Brigadier General Leodis T. Jennings currently serves as the Special Assistant to the Deputy Chief of Staff G-8, Headquarters Department of the Army. His most recent assignment was as the Global War on Terror Operational Assistant to the Director, Army National Guard. He has served in various other senior level positions in the Army National Guard to include the G-3, and Chief, Force Management Division. Prior to his return to the Army National Guard Readiness Center in 2006, he served as Chief, Force Assessment in the Force Structure, Resources, and Assessment Directorate of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (J-8), where he developed analyses to assist in implementing the National Security Strategy. General Jennings is both a force manager and strategic planner, having served in numerous and varied positions at the Army National Guard Readiness Center, Headquarters, Department of the Army and the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

General Jennings earned his commission from the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) program at North Carolina State University in 1983 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Materials Engineering. Prior to receiving his commission, General Jennings enlisted in the Army in 1975 and served in numerous positions to include, Armor crewman, gunner, Tank Commander and Training NonCommissioned Officer.
