Commander, 184th Sustainment Command
Brigadier General Philip R. Fisher serves as the Commander, 184th Sustainment Command, Laurel, Mississippi. As commander, he guides the formulation, development and implementation of all programs and policies affecting the Command and its more than 2,000 citizen Soldiers.
General Fisher received his commission through the Platoon Leaders Class of the United States Marine Corps in May 1976. He served on active duty from 1976 to 1979, stationed at Camp Pendleton, California as a Weapons Platoon Commander, Platoon Commander and Assistant S-3. General Fisher joined the Mississippi Army National Guard in 1980, serving with the 31st Rear Operation Center as an Operations Officer. Prior to his current assignment, General Fisher served in various command and staff positions within the 31st Rear Operation Center. Activated for duty during Hurricane Katrina in August 2005, he served as Chief of Staff for Task Force Magnolia. In October 2005, General Fisher was ordered to duty for Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation Enduring Freedom, serving as the Commanding Officer of the 184th Container Management Element through December 2006.

General Fisher was elected as the County Supervisor for District 4 in Hinds County, Mississippi, in November 2007. The Hinds County Board of Supervisors are responsible for implementing and enforcing county-wide personal policies, establishing and approving expenditures for the County Budget ($120,000,000 for FY 08), overseeing economic development efforts, and improving County infrastructure. Each of the five Supervisors represents approximately 50,000 constituents for a four-year term.
