Major General Maria L. Britt is Assistant Adjutant General - Army, Georgia National Guard, she also serves as Commanding General, Georgia Army National Guard. General Britt is responsible for directing, coordinating, organizing, and stationing the Georgia Army National Guard to ensure readiness to perform state and national missions.
General Britt's military career began in June 1979 when she entered into the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York. She was commissioned a Second Lieutenant, Military Police Branch, upon graduation from the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York, on May 1983. After completion of the Military Police Officer Basic Course at Fort McClellan, Alabama; General Britt served on active duty in various assignments until she relocated to Georgia where she joined the Georgia Army National Guard in September 1991.
