BRIGADIER GENERAL LEWIS E. BROWN

 

Commander, 218th Heavy Separate Brigade (Mechanized)

Brigadier General Lewis E. Brown assumed duties as Commander, 218th Heavy Separate Brigade (Mechanized) on 1 March 1999. As Commander, he leads the brigade in all aspects of training, readiness and mobilization. Brigadier General Brown is one of the three Brigade Commanders serving under the 24th Infantry Division as an E Brigade Commander and has just completed an National Training Center rotation.

The General's military service began in 1969. He was commissioned as a Personnel Officer following Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps. Prior to this assignment, Brigadier General Brown served as Chief, Plans, Operations, Military Support Officer for the State of South Carolina. In this capacity, General Brown was responsible for coordinating all military support to civilian authorities.
