MAJOR GENERAL JAMES D. TYRE

Assistant Adjutant General - Army, Florida National Guard

Major General Tyre assumed duties as the Assistant Adjutant General - Army, Florida National Guard, Florida Joint Force Headquarters, Saint Augustine, Florida on 15 October 2010. He is responsible for the operational readiness of more than 10,000 Soldiers of the Florida Army National Guard and the manning, training, administration, and logistics for both State and Federal missions. He also serves as a principle advisor to the Adjutant General on domestic operations, serving as the Joint Task Force Commander when directed.

General Tyre was commissioned in May 1980 and has served in various command and staff positions.
