Assistant for Mobilization and Reserve Affairs
Brigadier General Timothy E. Albertson entered military service with a direct commission in the Army Reserves. His first position with the Army National Guard was as the Battalion Flight Surgeon with the 1/140th AVN. He has served in multiple staff positions. He currently serves as the Assistant for Mobilization and Reserve Affairs to the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs/Force Health Protection and Readiness. As the reserve senior medical advisor in Health Affairs, he advises on issues related to reserve medical readiness and reserve force health protection. Prior to this appointment, he was the California Army National Guard State Surgeon and Medical Detachment Commander. He has served in Iraq as a battalion surgeon (1/185 AR/81st BCT) and has participated in many overseas training missions including Peace Shield (1998-2000). He is a Professor of Medicine at the School of Medicine, University of California, Davis. He is a fellow in the American College of Physicians and the Royal College of Physicians (London).
