BRIGADIER GENERAL JOSEPH M. RICHIE

Brigadier General Joseph M. Richie is Assistant Adjutant General - Army, Kentucky National Guard, Frankfort, Kentucky.

General Richie was commissioned in 1981 through the officer candidate program. Prior to receiving his commission, General Richie served as an enlisted member of the 2/138th Field Artillery in the Kentucky Army National Guard. He has commanded at the battery, battalion and brigade levels and served in senior staff officer positions within the 138th Field Artillery Brigade and at the state headquarters level. General Richie's senior command-level leadership assignments include service as Commander of the 2/138th Field Artillery Battalion, Commander of the 138th Field Artillery Brigade and Commander of the 75th Brigade Troop Command, all in Lexington, Kentucky. He was mobilized in response to Hurricane Katrina and served from September through November 2005 as Commander of Task Force New Orleans. He has also served as Director of the Joint Force Headquarters Kentucky Joint Planning Group. General Richie has served at the national level on the Field Artillery Advisory Council and the National Guard Bureau Fire Support Task Force.
