Brigadier General Michael L. Peplinski is Commander, 127th Wing, Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Michigan. The 127th Wing consists of 1,705 authorized personnel, operating both the A-10 and KC-135 aircraft, and supports the requirements of Air Combat Command, Air Mobility Command and Air Force Special Operations Command. He provides overall support and services to 44 Department of Defense and Depart of Homeland Security tenant organizations, including all branches of the military as well as the Coast Guard and Customs Border Patrol. Nearly 6700 Active, Guard and Reserve military and civilian personnel call Selfridge Air National Guard Base home.

General Peplinski is a command pilot with over 3500 hours of flight time of which 3400 is in various blocks and models of the F-16 aircraft. He began his military career in 1979 when he graduated from the United States Air Force Academy. He served as an active duty officer for nearly 20 years after which he joined the Air National Guard in his home state of Michigan. During his career, his duties have included instructor pilot, flight commander, operations officer, squadron commander, operations group commander and wing vice commander. General Peplinski was also Commander, 506th Air Expeditionary Group, Kirkuk Air Base, Iraq from February 2004 - June 2004.
