Assistant Adjutant General - Army, Wyoming Army National Guard
Brigadier General Olin O. Oedekoven is Assistant Adjutant General - Army, Wyoming National Guard, Cheyenne, Wyoming serving as the Adjutant General's principal assistant responsible for developing interagency programs which support Soldiers and Airmen, community outreach and federal/state missions.
General Oedekoven provides strategic leadership of the Wyoming Military Department's Joint Service Support, Joint Strategic Planning Working Group, Camp Guernsey Advisory Board, the Strategic Communications Oversight Committee, Joint Legislative Working Group and Joint Diversity Council. Additionally, he facilitates coordination of Wyoming's Youth Challenge Program, Starbase Academy, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve and Wyoming's State Partnership Program with Tunisia. General Oedekoven is also the Vice Chairman and Northwest Regional Representative, National Guard Joint Diversity Advisory Council.
General Oedekoven enlisted in the 842nd Engineer Company of the South Dakota National Guard in 1978. General Oedekoven was commissioned in 1981 through the Reserve Officer Training Corps program at South Dakota State University. After initial platoon-level assignments in the South Dakota National Guard, General Oedekoven joined the United States Army Reserve in June 1982 and served in a number of leadership positions including platoon leader of the 461st Engineer Company headquartered in Casper, Wyoming and as a senior instructor with the 5046th United States Army Reserve Forces School in Aurora, Colorado.
General Oedekoven joined the Wyoming Army National Guard in 1991 where he has held numerous staff and command assignments. His previous assignment was as the Commander, 115th Field Artillery Brigade.
