BRIGADIER GENERAL MICHAEL R. LIECHTY

 

Commander, Land Component Command, Utah Army National Guard

Brigadier General Michael R. Liechty is the Land Component Commander for the Utah Army National Guard. The Land Component Commander is responsible for the training readiness, administration, logistics, and Uniform Code of Military Justice for the six Army Major Commands within the state of Utah. He has commanded at Battery, Battalion, and Corps Artillery levels.

General Michael R. Liechty was commissioned in 1982 through the Utah Military Academy's Officer Candidate School program. Prior to receiving his commission, he served as an enlisted member for twelve years in C Battery, 145th Field Artillery Battalion of the Utah Army National Guard. He has served in a myriad of positions to include Battery Commander; Battalion S3, Battalion Commander; Corps Artillery Chief of Staff; Corps Artillery Deputy Commander; Training Site Commander; and Corps Artillery Commander.
