BRIGADIER GENERAL RUSSELL S. HARGIS

Brigadier General Russell S. Hargis assumed his duties as the Assistant Adjutant General (Army), North Carolina National Guard, Raleigh, North Carolina in December 2005. In this capacity, he is the principal advisor to The Adjutant General of North Carolina for plans and policies as well as other areas affecting the North Carolina Army National Guard.

Brigadier General Hargis served as an enlisted soldier in the North Carolina National Guard for 9 years prior to attending the North Carolina Military Academy at Fort Bragg North Carolina, where he received his commission. He earned his BS degree in General Studies from Liberty University in 1997. BG Hargis' military assignments include two Maintenance Company Commands, a Support Battalion Command, and a Brigade level command as well as various staff positions at all levels. His most recent assignments include Deputy Chief of Staff - Intelligence (J-2), JFHQ-NC; Chief, Evaluation Branch; and Commander, 60th Troop Command.
