Assistant Adjutant General, Oklahoma Army National Guard
Brigadier General Terry R. Council assumed the duties as Assistant Adjutant General for the Oklahoma Army National Guard on 1 July 2006. As Assistant Adjutant General, he is responsible for the oversight of training, administration, logistics, and personnel actions for the Oklahoma Army National Guard. Additionally, he advises the Adjutant General in regards to any matters concerning the Oklahoma Army National Guard and its 7200 citizen soldiers.
The General's military career began in 1975. He was commissioned as a Air Defense Artillery officer upon graduation from ROTC and then completed the Officer Rotary Wing Aviation Course. Brigadier General Council is a Master Aviator with over 4,300 hours of flight time in variety of rotary and fixed wing aircraft. He has previously served as Aviation Commander, Army Aviation Support Facility Commander, and State Aviation Officer.
