MAJOR GENERAL GRANT L. HAYDEN

 

Commander, 29th Infantry Division

Major General Grant L. Hayden is the Commander of the 29th Infantry Division. He assumed command of the division on 9 September 2007. General Hayden is also serving as the Special Assistant to the Director, Army National Guard.

General Hayden received his commission in June 1977 as a Second Lieutenant, with a basic branch of Infantry. He has held operational assignments at virtually every level of the Maryland Army National Guard, to include many key staff positions, brigade and battalion command. General Hayden is branch qualified as an Infantry Officer and has completed both Infantry Officer Basic and Advanced Course. He is a graduate of the Command and General Staff Course, Pre-Command Course, and the United States Army War College.
