BRIGADIER GENERAL BRIAN W. GOODWIN

 

Assistant Adjutant General - Army, Rhode Island National Guard

Brigadier General Brian W. Goodwin is the Assistant Adjutant General - Army, Rhode Island National Guard, and also serves as the Land Component Commander, Rhode Island National Guard. He is responsible for assisting the Adjutant General in formulating, developing and coordinating all programs, policies and plans affecting the Rhode Island Army National Guard and its more than 2,100 citizen Soldiers. General Goodwin represents the Adjutant General in a variety of forums including Major Commands National Guard Bureau, State, Congressional and public meetings, presentation and conferences.

General Goodwin was commissioned in April 1979 through the Rhode Island Army National Guard Officer Candidate School. Prior to receiving his commission he served for seven years as an enlisted member in the 1118th Engineer Company.
