BRIGADIER GENERAL BRUCE C. FRANDSEN

 

Assistant Adjutant General, Utah

Brigadier General Bruce C. Frandsen assumed his duties as the Assistant Adjutant General for Utah in May of 2005. He serves as the principal assistant to the Adjutant General for all Army National Guard issues. He is responsible for ensuring a Corps Artillery headquarters, Military Intelligence Brigade, Engineer Group, Aviation Group, and a Special Forces Group, along with their associated battalions are prepared to mobilize and deploy in support of any and all Federal missions. He ensures that units within the Utah Army National Guard are prepared to respond to the myriad of State missions in support of the Governor. He is also responsible for assisting the Adjutant General in the oversight and management of the Utah Military Department of Veterans Affairs which includes the Veteran's cemetery, a Veteran's nursing home and coordinating with various veterans' organizations. He supervises the accountability of well over 600 million dollars worth of equipment, and manages an annual budget in excess of 120 million dollars. He oversees the management of more than twenty-seven thousand acres of military ranges and training areas, and provides oversight for the maintenance and care of armory facilities in twenty-three separate communities. In addition, he oversees the State Partnership Program with the Kingdom of Morocco.

General Frandsen has commanded at the Company, Battalion, Group and Troop Command levels. He has served as a “Dual Hat” Joint Task Force Commander for numerous exercises to include VIGILANT GUARD, a recent regional disaster response exercise.
