MAJOR GENERAL EDWARD A. LEACOCK

Major General Edward A. Leacock serves as Mobilization Assistant to the Director, Defense Intelligence Agency. He performs duties as the principal advisor to the Director regarding reserve component readiness and operations and facilitates activities between Active Duty, Reserves, National Guard and Federal agencies.

General Leacock was commissioned in 1978 through the Officer Candidate School (Active Duty). His career has included numerous intelligence assignments in the Far East, Europe, and the United States. General Leacock served a short tour in 1990 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina supporting the 82nd Airborne Division (Rear) and 18th Airborne Corps (Rear) during Operation DESERT SHIELD. In February 2000 he was federally mobilized and served as Commander, 629th Military Intelligence Battalion, Multi-National Division (North), Stabilization Force 7, Operation JOINT FORGE in Bosnia-Herzegovina. In January 2006 General Leacock was again mobilized and assumed the duties of Deputy Commanding General, Joint Task Force Guantanamo, Operation ENDURING FREEDOM, United States Southern Command, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. In 2008 General Leacock was selected for a two-year extended active duty tour as the Deputy J2, US Africa Command, Stuttgart, Germany. General Leacock was the inaugural recipient of the Colonel Carl F. Eifler Award from the National Military Intelligence Association. General Leacock served as an enlisted Military Intelligence member of the United States Army Security Agency.
