Assistant Adjutant General - Air, Alabama Air National Guard

Brigadier General Norman L. Elliott is the Assistant Adjutant General, Alabama Air National Guard. He serves as the principle advisor to the Adjutant General for all Air National Guard issues. In this assignment he is responsible for formulating, developing and coordinating all programs, policies and plans affecting almost 2400 Air National Guard personnel throughout the State of Alabama.

General Elliott entered the United States Air Force Academy in June 1966. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1970, he entered undergraduate pilot training at Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas. He was awarded his pilot wings in August 1971. While on active duty, he flew as a pilot for the Rescue Service and for Weather Reconnaissance. After leaving active duty, he received his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine in May 1979. He graduated from the School of Aerospace Medicine, Brooks Air Force Base, Texas in 1983, and received his flight surgeon wings. His active duty, reserve, and Air National Guard flying contributions have all centered on issues concerning the line community, both from a pilot and flight surgeon's perspective.
