BRIGADIER GENERAL BARBARANETTE T. BOLDEN

Brigadier General Barbaranette T. Bolden is the J8, Mobility Assistant for United States Pacific Command. She is responsible for assisting the Director for the Resources and Assessment Directorate (J-8) by advocating for future capabilities and forces to accomplish the United States Pacific Command's mission, oversee joint experimentation and studies and analyses to fill United States Pacific Command's capability gaps, and assist with the command's planning and programming efforts.

General Bolden received her commission in 1978 from the District of Columbia Army National Guard Officer Candidate School. Prior to receiving her commission, she served as an enlisted member of the 567th Engineer Battalion of the Arkansas Army National Guard. After moving to Washington, District of Columbia to attend law school, she joined the District of Columbia Army National Guard. She has served in numerous positions of increased authority and responsibility to include: Company Commander, Battalion S-1 and S-3, Brigade S-1, Personnel Management Officer, Battalion Commander, Director of Personnel, Director of Plans, Operations, Training and Military Support, the Joint Chief of Staff for the District of Columbia National Guard, J3, Director of Operations for the Joint Task Force - Armed Forces Inaugural Committee, Commander, 260th Military Police command and, most recently, Commander, Land Component Command and Commander, Joint Task Force for the District of Columbia.
