Major General Charles G. Rodriguez was the Adjutant General for the State of Texas. He assumed that position on 12 June 2005. Major General Rodriguez is stationed at Camp Mabry, Austin, Texas. As Adjutant General, he was responsible for commanding over 23, 500 Soldiers, Airmen and civilians of the Texas Military Forces, which includes the Texas Army and Air National Guard, the State Guard and the Adjutant General's Department. Units under his command include the Standing Joint Inter-Agency Task Force, the 36th Infantry Division, the 147th and 149th Fighter Wings and the 136th Airlift Wing.

Major General Rodriguez began his military service in 1975, when he graduated from the United States Military Academy into the Signal Corps. He served 8 years on active duty with the 101st Airborne (Air Assault) Division in light Infantry, combat Engineer and tactical Signal battalions, as well as served with the G3 operations office of the 1st Armored Division and as the Division's Signal Battalion Headquarters Company Commander. Subsequently, he transferred to the United States Army Reserve where he served 11 years, including tours with National Security Agency, United States Atlantic Command, United States Military Academy and as United States Army Reserve Signal Detachment Commander. Since joining the Texas Army National Guard in 1995, General Rodriguez commanded the 136th Signal Battalion (Corps Support), became a Quartermaster officer and commanded the 136th Regional Training Regiment (Combat Arms). In addition, he served as Deputy Commanding General of the 71st Troop Command which deployed forces in the Global War on Terrorism during Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Prior to becoming the Adjutant General of Texas, Major General Rodriguez served as the Assistant Adjutant General for Homeland Defense, Texas Joint Forces Headquarters and designated commander (contingency dual status, Title 32 and Title 10, at the direction of the Adjutant General and the Secretary of Defense) in Texas for domestic Joint Forces operations.
