BRIGADIER GENERAL ENRIQUE J. LANZ

                                                                                                    Retired effective Oct 1, 1998

Brigadier General Enrique J. Lanz is the chief of staff for the Puerto Rico Air National Guard, San Juan, P.R. He is responsible for the supervision of the commanders of the 156th Fighter Wing, 140th Air Defense Squadron, and the 141st Air Control Squadron. 

General Lanz received his commission in 1968 through Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps program at the University of Puerto Rico, San Juan, P.R. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1968 where he completed undergraduate pilot training and later served as instructor pilot and flight examiner in the Military Airlift Command. As a first lieutenant and only 23 years of age, he was the youngest C-141 aircraft commander at the time.
