BRIGADIER GENERAL DAVID E. GREER

 

Assistant Adjutant General, Tennessee Army National Guard

Brigadier General David E. Greer is the Assistant Adjutant General, Tennessee Army National Guard. He is responsible for the training and supervision of the more than 10,600 soldiers in the Tennessee Army National Guard. In this capacity, he commands the Tennessee Army National Guard, and is responsible for readiness and effectiveness in training, administration, and logistics for both State and Federal missions. He directs, supervises and coordinates the Headquarters Tennessee Army National Guard staff and Army Guard units.

Prior to his assignment as the Assistant Adjutant General, Brigadier General served as the Deputy Commanding General, Army National Guard, United States Field Artillery Center (USAFAC), Fort Sill, Oklahoma. As Deputy Commanding General, he was responsible to the Commanding General, Fort Sill for the Army National Guard domains of doctrine, training, leader development, organization, material and soldiers. Brigadier General Greer's active military service began in 1972. He was commissioned as a Field Artillery officer upon completion of Reserve Officer Training Corps. Prior to his assignment as the Deputy Commanding General, General Greer served as the Commander for the 196th Field Artillery Brigade, Tennessee Army National Guard.
