Assistant Division Commander,
42nd Infantry DivisionGeneral Wondrack assumed the duties as Assistant Division Commander of the 42nd Infantry Division, New Jersey Army National Guard on 15 February 2001. As the Assistant Division Commander, he serves as the primary advisor to The Adjutant General on all matters concerning units of the 42nd Infantry Division.
General Wondrack started his career in 1963 as a private in the United States Marine Corps. He served in combat operations in the Republic of Vietnam with the Ninth Marine Regiment. After a brief interruption in service to finish college, he enlisted in the New Jersey Army National Guard. After graduating the State Officer Candidate School program he was assigned to Troop B 5/117th Cavalry where he served as a platoon leader, executive officer, and five years as an armored cavalry troop commander. He was transferred to Headquarters Troop 5/117th Cavalry where he served as the squadron S-3. Prior to his current assignment, he served as the Chief, Military Support Division.
