MAJOR GENERAL JON L. TROST

Deputy Commanding General, Army National Guard, United States Army Training and Doctrine Command

Major General Jon L. Trost assumed the duties as the Deputy Commanding General, Army National Guard, United States Army Training and Doctrine Command on April 1, 2008. As the Deputy Commanding General, he served as the principal Army National Guard integrator for coordination and promoting effective communication between Headquarters, Training and Doctrine Command, Training and Doctrine Command schools, and the National Guard Bureau liaison to on major policy issues and programs impacting the Army National Guard.

General Trost's military service began in 1970. He was commissioned a field artillery officer in June 1974 after attending the state officer candidate school. Prior to this assignment, General Trost served as the Assistant Adjutant General, Plans/Operations, Minnesota Army National Guard and Assistant Division Commander-Maneuver, 34th Infantry Division.
