BRIGADIER GENERAL EDWARD H. BALLARD

 

Chief, Property Accountability Team - Afghanistan

Brigadier General Edward H. Ballard is currently OPCON to Combined Joint Task Force -76 where he is serving as Chief, Property Accountability Team. He is responsible for property accountability, reset, and property distribution in Afghanistan. Prior to his deployment, BG Ballard served as the Assistant Division Commander - Support, 29th Infantry Division (Light), headquartered at Fort Belvoir, Virginia.

He has served as a commissioned officer since he graduated from the Army National Guard Officer Candidate School in May, 1976. During his career he has served as a Platoon Leader, Company Commander, Battalion Staff Officer, Battalion Executive Officer, Battalion Commander, Brigade Staff Officer (DISCOM), Deputy Commander (DISCOM) and Brigade Commander (DISCOM & 58th Troop Command) prior to his present assignment. On September 1, 2002, he was assigned as Assistant Division Commander, 29th Infantry Division (Light).

BG Ballard is branch qualified as a Quartermaster Officer. He has completed both the Quartermaster Basic and Advanced Officers course. He is a graduate of the Command and General Staff Course and the Pre-Command Course. He is also a graduate of the U. S. Army War College.
