BRIGADIER GENERAL ROBERT A. MARTINEZ

 

Deputy Adjutant General for New Mexico

Brigadier General Robert A. Martinez assumed duties as Deputy Adjutant General, New Mexico National guard on October 1, 2001. He is directly responsible for the training and readiness of the New Mexico Army National Guard.

Brigadier General Martinez was commissioned a Second Lieutenant, Military Intelligence on 19 December 1980. Since that time he has served in a variety of positions on both active duty and in the Army National Guard of the United States. Prior to his current appointment, held several positions within the Army Directorate, National Guard Bureau including Chief, Mobilization and Chief of the Strategy and Communications Division. As the Mobilization Chief, he was responsible for coordinating the Guard's response to operations in Haiti, Macedonia, and Bosnia. As the Strategy and Communications Chief, he coordinated the Army National Guard's articipation in Important DoD studies such as the Reserve Component Employment Study--2005.
