Brigadier General Laughlin Hudson Holliday was appointed commander, 184th Transportation Brigade, Mississippi Army National Guard in June 2000. As commander, he guides the formulation, development and implementation of all programs and policies affecting the Brigade and its more than 2,000 citizen soldiers. The 184th Transportation Brigade is the senior transportation headquarters in the National Guard nationwide.
General Holliday began his military career when he enlisted in the Mississippi National Guard's 1065th Transportation Company in 1965. Within four years of enlistment, General Holliday had vearned the rank of Staff Sergeant. He completed Federal Officer Candidate School at Ft. Benning, Georgia, and was commissioned as a second lieutenant, Transportation Corps, in 1971. Prior to his current assignments, General Holliday served in various command and staff positions within the 138th Supply and Service Battalion, culminating as the battalion commander. He subsequently served as chief of staff and deputy commander of the 184th Transportation Brigade before becoming brigade commander in 1990.
