BRIGADIER GENERAL DONALD H. POLK

 

Deputy Commander, State Area Command, Tennessee Army National Guard

Brigadier General Donald H. Polk is the Deputy Commander, State Area Command, Tennessee Army National Guard. General Polk is responsible for supervising the training, operations and administration of approximately 3,000 combat service support soldiers of the Tennessee Army National Guard.

General Polk joined the Tennessee Army National Guard in October of 1976.

NATURE, SCOPE AND EXTENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide direct patient care to individuals and families in Wayne County, Tennessee. This direct care includes outpatient services in The Waynesboro Clinic, P.C., inpatient and emergency services at Wayne Medical Center, and management of nursing home care in two Intermediate Care Facilities. As President of The Waynesboro Clinic, P.C., provides management and direction of all health care services to include recruitment, employment, and direction of all employees. As Medical Director of Emergency Services at Wayne Medical Center, responsible for the scheduling and services of Emergency Physicians, for development and implementation of policies and procedures, and for maintaining and insuring quality assurance and improvement of all services within the Emergency Department.
