BRIGADIER GENERAL MITCHELL R. LeCLAIRE

 

177th Military Police Brigade Commander
Michigan Army National Guard

Brigadier General LeClaire assumed duties as 177th Military Police Brigade Commander, Michigan Army National Guard in December 2000. He commands all assigned units and activities in the brigade; establishes objectives and policies to ensure effective and efficient accomplishment of command missions, and is responsible for developing the brigade into a cohesive, effective combat ready unit capable of being deployed on short notice. He is also responsible for training, administration, supply, maintenance, transportation and security of the brigade; and for maintaining brigade strength at a high level through recruiting and retention programs.

General LeClaire began his military career when he received a commission as a Second Lieutenant from Michigan Technological University through the Reserve Officer Training Corps program in 1970. He joined the Michigan Army National Guard in 1971. Prior to this assignment, General LeClaire served as Engineer Company Commander; Commander of two Engineer Battalions, State Engineer Officer, and Engineer Brigade Commander.

General LeClaire is a Professor at Ferris State University, Big Rapids, Michigan, responsible for instruction of upper two-year level courses in Baccalaureate degree program concentrating on applications engineering for Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning Systems for commercial and industrial applications.
