Brigadier General George N. Clark, Jr. is the chief of staff, Colorado Air National Guard, Buckley Air Force Base, Colorado.
The General began his military career as an enlisted Avionics specialist with the 177th Fighter Interceptor Group, Atlantic City, New Jersey in August 1972, attaining the grade of Master Sergeant in 1982. A Distinguished Graduate of the Air National Guard Academy of Military Science, General Clark was commissioned in 1983 serving as an Aircraft Weapons Safety Officer. He became an Avionics Officer in 1986. In September 1986 he was appointed as the Chief of Maintenance at the 109th Tactical Air Control Squadron in Salt Lake City, Utah. In 1991, General Clark accepted a position as Maintenance Control Officer at the 192nd Fighter Group in Richmond, Virginia. As a Major, he joined the Colorado Air National Guard and the 140th Consolidated Aircraft Maintenance Squadron in 1993. In 1994, he was selected as the 140th Logistics Squadron commander, and became the 140th Logistics Group commander in 1998. He became the commander of the 140th Maintenance Group upon it's activation in 2002. Since 2001, he has served as the Chairman of both the Air National Guard Logistics Council, Air National Guard Maintenance Group commander‘s Council and is the Air National Guard Air Director's Advisory Council Maintenance and Logistics Chairman. He was assigned as the Assistant Adjutant General for Air on 05 February 2006 and as the chief of staff, Joint Force Headquarters Colorado on 25 September 2006.
