BRIGADIER GENERAL WAYNE L. SCHULTZ

                                                                                                            Retired effective Sep 1, 2002

Brigadier General Wayne L. Schultz is commander, 140th Wing, Colorado Air National Guard, Buckley Air National Guard Base, Aurora, Colo. He is responsible for the administration and supervision of the wing and the 1,400 members in its subordinate units, ensures combat readiness in the mobilization missions, and shares responsibility for the operation and maintenance of Buckley Air National Guard Base. 

The general began his military career by receiving a commission through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps program at Iowa State University in 1966. General Schultz was the only Air National Guard officer to serve as the vice commander of the 4404th Provisional Wing, Dhahran, Saudia Arabia, from April to July 1996. During that deployment he directed the operations of over 2,500 personnel from 11 locations in four countries with 14 different types of combat aircraft. He is a command pilot with more than 5,000 flying hours.
