General Officer Biography

BRIGADIER GENERAL CLARENCE J. HINDMAN

Brigadier General Clarence J. "CJ" Hindman is the chief of staff at Headquarters, Arizona Air National Guard in Phoenix, Ariz. He serves as principal advisor to the assistant adjutant general for air, relating to state headquarters staff functions and activities. He also provides general direction to the headquarters staff. 

He began his military career by joining the United States Air Force while in medical school. After his internship he served for three years on active duty as a flight surgeon. After a break in service he joined the Arizona Air National Guard in 1989. Prior to his current assignment he was commander of the 162nd Medical Squadron.

1968 Bachelor of arts degree in chemistry from La Sierra College, Riverside, Calif.
1972 Doctor of medicine degree, Loma Linda University, Loma Linda, Calif.
