BRIGADIER GENERAL THOMAS C. HRUBY

 

Brigadier General Thomas C. Hruby is assigned as the Assistant Adjutant General for Air, Headquarters, North Dakota Air National Guard. As the Assistant Adjutant General, he is responsible for providing continuity and standardization of policies and procedures for the North Dakota Air National Guard. He also serves as the principle advisor to The Adjutant General regarding Air National Guard matters.

He began his military career by receiving a commission through the Air Force ROTC at South Dakota State University in 1968. While serving on active duty as an RC-135 pilot and assigned to the 343rd Strategic Reconnaissance Squadron, Offutt Air Force Base, NE, he flew worldwide strategic reconnaissance missions, including Southeast Asia. After joining the North Dakota Air National Guard in 1978, he served in a number of operational positions, including the 178th Fighter Interceptor Squadron commander and vice commander of the 119th Fighter Wing. During his tenure as commander the 178th FIS won William Tell in 1994 and the Hughes Trophy in 1995. He was transferred to Headquarters, North Dakota Air National Guard as chief of staff, and was appointed to his current position as Assistant Adjutant General for Air in April 1999.
