Brigadier General Dwayne A. Alons is the chief of staff at Headquarters, Iowa Air National Guard.
He is responsible for ensuring that units of the Iowa Air National Guard are organized, manned, equipped, trained, and ready to accomplish their assigned state and federal missions.
He serves as principal advisor to the assistant adjutant general on matters pertaining to the Iowa Air National Guard.
The general began his military career in the United States Air Force in 1969 by receiving a commission through Officer Training School. He provided briefings to local media highlighting the 132nd Fighter Wing Provide Comfort II deployment to Incirlik, Turkey.
He is a command pilot with more than 3,860 flying hours in the F-4, F-100, A-7, and F-16.
