Major General Donald P. Dunbar

Major General Donald P. Dunbar is The Adjutant General, Wisconsin. He also serves as Commanding General of the Wisconsin Army and Air National Guard responsible for both federal and state missions. He has mobilized more than 7,800 Soldiers and Airmen for combat operations and led Wisconsin through seven declared Stafford Act Emergencies. A cabinet level official, General Dunbar serves as the Homeland Security Advisor to Governor Walker, chairs the Wisconsin Homeland Security Council, is responsible for Emergency Management, and serves as Wisconsin's senior state official for cyber matters.  He also serves on the Homeland Security Advisory Council for the National Governor's Association and on the Executive Committee of the Adjutants General Association of the United States.

General Dunbar was commissioned in January 1984. He served in several operational assignments at the Wing Level and below to include a variety of staff positions at the National Guard Bureau and Pentagon, including Executive Officer for the Director, Air National Guard. He has commanded at the Group and Wing level. General Dunbar deployed twice in support of Operation's Iraq Freedom and Enduring Freedom as Commander of the 385th Air Expeditionary Group, Incirlik Air Base, Turkey. General Dunbar is a command pilot with more than 3,000 flying hours. He assumed his current duties on September 1, 2007.
