Brigadier General Julio R. Banez currently serves as the Assistant Adjutant General - Army, Alaska National Guard.

General Banez received an early commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Texas Army National Guard after his graduation from New Mexico Military Institute 1981. He entered active duty as a Field Artillery Officer after graduating the University of Texas at El Paso with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in 1984. General Banez's previous position was the Assistant Adjutant General-Army, Alaska National Guard Space and Missile Defense.
