BRIGADIER GENERAL HOWARD P. HUNT III

 

Assistant Adjutant General - Air, Kentucky Air National Guard

Brigadier General Howard P. Hunt III is the Assistant Adjutant General for Air, Kentucky Air National Guard, where he represents the Governor and the Adjutant General of Kentucky as the principal advisor on matters pertaining to the Kentucky Air National Guard, and serves as the Commander of the Kentucky Air National Guard. He is responsible to the Adjutant General of Kentucky for the overall management of the flying unit in the state.

General Hunt is a 1974 graduate of Texas Christian University Reserve Officer Training Corps program. Prior to his current position, he was the Chief of Staff/Joint Forces Air Component Commander for the Joint Force Headquarters, Kentucky. General Hunt is experienced in numerous airlift unit functions at both the wing and state headquarters levels. He has served in Personnel, Base Training and Education, Avionics, and Aircraft Maintenance Control. He has also served as Maintenance Group Commander, Executive Staff Support Officer, and Wing Executive Officer. General Hunt has been responsible for the Air National Guard's participation in numerous events concerning military support to civilian authorities, to include, many subject matter expert exchanges in the State Partnership Program with Ecuador. He was also instrumental in the early development of statewide Homeland Security processes and creation of the Kentucky Guard's Weapons of Mass Destruction team.
