The Adjutant General, Rhode Island
Major General Kevin R. McBride assumed his duties as The Adjutant General, Rhode Island 1 July 2011. He also serves as Commanding General, Rhode Island National Guard. He is responsible for the mission readiness of all Rhode Island National Guard units for both federal and state missions.
General McBride has served in a variety of command and staff positions during his career. He received his commission through the Reserve Officer Training Corps at the University of Rhode Island in 1980. General McBride has commanded an Attack Helicopter Battalion, a Light Utility Helicopter Battalion and the 56th Troop Command (Airborne). He served as the Commanding General for the 43rd Military Police Brigade during Operation Iraqi Freedom 2005 - 2007. General McBride served as the Commander of the 43rd Military Police Brigade from February 2003 to January 2009.Most recently as the Commander, United States Army North's Contingency Command, Post 1, Fort Sam Houston, Texas from May 2011 to June 2011 when he assumed his duties as The Adjutant General.
