A CH-47 Chinook assigned to the New York Army National Guard’s Bravo Company, 3rd Battalion, 126th Aviation removes a 3,900-pound steel pontoon from the Niagara River just above the American side of Niagara Falls in Niagara Falls, New York on May 4, 2022. The pontoon, which washed away from an ice dam in 2019, was removed because of concerns that it could go over the falls and damage the “Cave of the Winds”.

Niagara Falls, New York - A CH-47 Chinook assigned to the New York Army National Guard’s Bravo Company, 3rd Battalion, 126th Aviation removes a 3,900-pound steel pontoon from the Niagara River just above the American side of Niagara Falls in Niagara Falls, New York on May 4, 2022.
