On Jan. 13, the two men were part of a New York Air National Guard air crew that flew the injured from McMurdo Station, Ross Island to Christchurch, New Zealand - a trip that covered about 2,300 miles.

Due to the extensive amount of clay soil at this site, it was necessary to remove additional soil material to receive compliance. This site at Wright Army Airfield has now been partnered with Liberty County, Ga., as a 'joint-use airfield.'

Bagorio and Combis graduated together from Barber's Point Campus of the Hawaii National Guard's Youth Challenge Academy. The academy is a program that helps misguided youth to become a working part of the community. Bagorio is deployed from Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz., and Combis is deployed from the Hawaii Air National Guard. Both are natives of the state of Hawaii.
