Afghanistan: Mississippi Army National Guard Soldier continues life of service, chooses deployment over retirement

Spc. Terry Mills, with Company F, 1st Battalion, 171st Aviation Regiment, pulls Army Staff Sgt. Ryan Stumpff into a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter in Khowst Province, Afghanistan. Stumpff was stranded on a narrow cliff after being wounded in an ambush. Mills, who served as an aviation crew chief in the Army in the 1980s, retired as a civilian firefighter four years ago and enlisted in the Mississippi Army National Guard.

The BDF chefs taught Tidwell how to cook BDF-style as they prepared a a meal during Southern Accord 2012, a combined, joint exercise promoting collaboration and partnership between the two nations' militaries.
